Take a Brief Tour

The Stone Hall

The Stone Hall was originally a machine shop and was built using native stone and heavy exposed beams.  Now it is used as a charming banquet, reception, and special event hall.  Amenities include chandeliers, a working stone fireplace, and antique furnishings.  The Stone Hall is accessible from the Foyer, the Kitchen, and the back deck.

The Osborn/Woods Hall

The Osborn/Woods Hall is adjacent to the Upper Gallery and may also be rented for events.  Named in honor of the founders of the American Victorian Museum, the Osborn/Woods Hall features a wooden dance floor, a permanent stage, theatrical lighting, and a world class sound system.  Strands of cafe lights across the ceiling create a romantic look for dinner or dancing.

The Foyer

The Foyer was once the Foundry’s blacksmith shop and now houses antique machines, interpretive displays, and artifacts.   The Foyer has been used as a ceremony, reception, and cocktail site.  A large picture window allows natural light to fill the room and a long ramp presents opportunities for unique photographs of your event.

The Upper Gallery

Adjacent to the Foyer is the Upper Gallery.  The Upper Gallery was the primary location for the  manufacturing of the Pelton Wheel.  The room now features a large chandelier and graceful archways.  The Upper Gallery has many uses including a ceremony site or cocktail area.

Outdoor Spaces

The Foundry has a number of outdoor spaces for photos and guest enjoyment.  The Gardens feature historical mining artifacts and include a number of native trees and plants including Japanese Maple, Flowering Cherry, Flowering Plum, and Dogwood, creating a lovely scene blooming year round.  The front garden offers a stone patio and charming stone bench.  The back gardens include a large ivy wall and arbor with attractive climbing plants.

On-site Parking is included with over 50 spaces available  A parking map can also be provided, indicating the location of additional parking in downtown Nevada City, within walking distance of the Foundry.  The Foundry is universally accessible.

Conference Room

Next to the Upper Gallery are the Restrooms and the Conference Room.  The restrooms are multi-stall and handicapped accessible.  The Conference Room is included in wedding rentals and can be used as a private room for the bridal party, offering a full length mirror, table, chairs, and a sink.

Technical Information

The Osborn/Woods Hall boasts a stage with world class sound and lighting capabilities and can hold 325-650 people, depending on seating arrangements.

The stage is 20′ deep at center to the back curtain and 26′ wide, wing to wing.

The wings are 6′ and can be pulled back if necessary.

There is a 4′ crossover at the back of the stage.

“Just a note to thank you for great job on the sound system.  It’s a compliment when I say I didn’t notice the sound and enjoyed the music immensely … you obviously know your audience.  Also you staged the band perfectly… could not have been better.”
