In love and life, one big night can change everything! “Big Night” is the tale of two immigrant brothers from Abruzzo who own and operate a restaurant called “Paradise.” One brother, Primo (Tony Shalhoub), is a brilliant, perfectionist chef who chafes under their few customers’ expectations of “Americanized” Italian food. Their uncle’s offer for them to return to Rome to help with his restaurant is becoming more and more appealing to Primo. The other brother, Secondo (Stanley Tucci), is the restaurant’s manager, who is enamored of the possibilities presented by their new endeavor and life in America. Despite Secondo’s efforts and Primo’s magnificent food, their restaurant is failing. They host a final “Big Night” to save the restaurant. The film also stars Minnie Driver, Isabella Rosellini, and Marc Anthony. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and the Grand Special Prize at the Deauville Film Festival, “Big Night” literally makes your mouth salivate and your stomach growl, it’s that good! And not just because of the amazing Italian food, but the superb acting and plot.
The Old 5 Mile House has created a mouth-watering menu of the traditional Italian dishes featured in the movie including Maiale di Lattante Arrostito tutto (Whole Roasted Suckling Pig), Timbale Reale (baked pasta), Risotto Bandiera Italiana (Risotto in the Colors of the Italian Flag), Brodo Vegetale con Pasta (vegetable soup), Pollo Arrostito con Rosmarino (Whole Roasted Chickens with Rosemary), Pesci Arrostiti Tutto Con le Erbe (Whole Roasted Fish with Herbs) plus fresh vegetables including beets, carrots, asparagus, tomatoes, artichokes, and radicchio, either grilled or roasted to perfection. And of course, Tira Misu for dessert. Enjoy this tantalizing dinner, perfect for both vegetarians and carnivores, by romantic candle light and a warm fire.
People will be talking about “Big Night” The Movie and The Feast all year long.
