Ecstatic Dance ~ Tuesdays
Ecstatic Dance Nevada City will be presented Tuesdays from 7:30 – 10:00 p.m. at the Miners Foundry, 325 Spring Street, Nevada City.
Ecstatic Dance in its most basic definition is free-form movement /dance inspired by music, allowing bodies to move freely without judgment or concern for the “grace” or beauty of the dance. This is the dance you dance when nobody is watching! This dance is an inner/outer journey of moving meditation. It develops a direct body-spirit connection, letting your body and inner guide be your teachers. It’s about being present with your own energy and discovering your own dance within using this movement and energetic experience to release stuck patterns in your body, emotions, mind and spirit.

I was curious as to whom is in charge of booking the talent for your ecstatic dance.
My stage name is Ocho the Owl, and I specialize in a genre that I call devotional looping. This essentially where I beatbox and record my voice onto a looping pedal, add ambient soundscape effects, and then sing sanskit devotional songs over all of it.
So far this year, I’ve performed at several festivals through out California and I perform live for yoga classes throughout california and nevada.
I’d love to be considered for your ecstatic dance if there are any slots within the next few months.

Hey there! I’ve recently moved to the area after being displace by the fire that destroyed Harbin. I was so looking forward to dancing last week (5/3) but there was no Ecstatic Dance. Someone walking by told me that you will sometimes switch and do Mondays. I drove in from Sierra Hot Springs and I was disappointed. I understand that scheduling can be challenging. Is there any way you can let us know when you’re NOT going to do Ecstatic Dance on Tuesdays?
