The Nevada Union High School Visual Arts Department will present their 8th Annual Evening for the Arts ~ An Interactive Visual Arts Experience on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Miners Foundry, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 for Students and $20.00 for adults, and are available online at http://margaretarnoldgallery.com/ and in person at J.J. Jackson’s in Nevada City.
All proceeds from the event will purchase much needed instructional materials and supplies for the entire Nevada Union Visual Arts Department. All donations are tax deductible.
The public is invited to preview the student artwork exhibition at the Miners Foundry between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Admission to preview the exhibition is free.
Event Highlights include:
~ Walk for the Arts to raise awareness as well as funding for Nevada Union’s Visual Arts Department. The walk will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Nevada Union High School and will culminate at the Miners Foundry. Music and activities will be featured at key intersections along the route.
~ Exhibition and silent auction of exemplary student art works.
~ Raffle and silent auction of items donated by community members and business.
~ An Interactive Visual Experience featuring photography, drawing, painting, and ceramics.
~ Special Guest performance by Flamenco Guitarist GoPal Slavonic, plus musical entertainment featuring Kalayja Rain Simning.
~ Wine and beer tasting, featuring 5 local wineries and the Auburn Alehouse Brewery.
~ Tasty appetizers!
