The Wednesday, September 23 presentation of “Phyro-Giants!” has been postponed. Please check the Miners Foundry and Sierra Stages websites for information regarding when the performance will be re-scheduled.
Sierra Stages and Miners Foundry will present “Phyro-Giants!” on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. “Phyro-Giants!”, written by Michael Blieden and directed by T.E. Wolfe, is the next installment of Theater By the Book, a series of informal play readings for the community.
“Phyro-Giants!” explores the phenomenon of restaurant intimacy – that strange sense of comfort and honesty experienced at a dinner with acquaintances who, for one night, become a person’s closest confidants. Wine flows, desserts are shared, and four loosely connected individuals share their hopes, dreams, fears, fantasies, and secrets in this in this modern day fable told in real time. Funny, poignant, and graphically honest – no relationship is left unexamined. Love, hate, marriage, infidelity, romance, pornography, the supernatural, education, and ignorance are all given equal time in this late night hilarious comedy.
Note: “Phyro-Giants!” has strong language and adult themes. It runs for 70 minutes without an intermission.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are a $10 suggested donation, and are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, or at the door.
