Tomorrow Never Knows: Deconstructing the Beatles “Revolver” ~ Tuesday, May 8, 2012
The Beatles’ Revolver is a groundbreaking album that routinely tops “Best Album” lists. The 1966 album launched a period of studio experimentation for the Beatles that coincided with the end of their concert performances. With memorable songs such as “Eleanor Rigby”, “Yellow Submarine”, and “Tomorrow Never Knows”, the Beatles pushed popular music to a place it had never been. Hosted by composer, producer and Beatles expert Scott Freiman, this popular presentation SOLD OUT last February and has been hailed as “pure MAGIC”. Volunteers are need in the Box Office and to serve as Ushers.
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Food & Film Series ~ Saturday, May 12, 2012
The Nevada City Film Festival, Miners Foundry Cultural Center and Emily’s Catering and Cakes will present “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, the 1961 classic romantic comedy film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, followed by a plentiful spread of scrumptious springtime hors d’oeuvres, plus live music, and lots of dancing! “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” will be one the wildest night New York AND Nevada City ever knew! Volunteers are needed in the Box Office, to serve as Ushers, Set Up, and Serve.
Spring Dance Performance ~ Tuesday, May 15, 2012
The Movement Alliance School and Holt Ballet Conservatory will present a 2012 Spring Concert and Benefit for the Osborn/Woods Hall Dance Floor Fund at the Miners Foundry on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Over sixty dancers of all ages will take the stage, from companies as diverse as The Movement Alliance School, TMA Dance Theatre Company, TMA Junior Company, Holt Ballet Conservatory, HBC Performing Ensemble, Sierra College Jazz & Folk Dance class, and Nevada Union High School Advanced Dance. Volunteers are needed in the Box Office and to serve as Ushers.
Johnny Winter ~ Thursday, May 17, 2012
The Miners Foundry is excited to present Guitar Legend Johnny Winter, who will make his first ever Nevada County appearance on Thursday, May 17, 2012, in a Dance Concert at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City. His local appearance is one of only five shows on the West Coast before embarking on tours of Japan and Europe. Volunteers are needed in many areas, please contact Kat for specifics.

The Miners Foundry is excited to present Howlin Rain in Concert with local openers the Soft Bombs. San Francisco Bay Area-based power quintet Howlin Rain will be performing in the Osborn/Woods Hall debuting their third album The Russian Wilds, produced by Rick Rubin. Volunteers are needed in the Box Office and as Security.
