MusicaliTea ~ Sunday, January 22, 2012 ~ 1:30pm Doors Open / 2:00 to 4:00pm Tea
A benefit event for Sierra Master Chorale! Tea for two, and two for tea and tea for one hundred and sixty… may not be how the song goes, but that’s the plan for Sierra Master Chorale’s second annual MusicaliTEA on Sunday, January 22, 2012. What better way to warm the bitter cold this January (which happens to be National Hot Tea month) than with a celebration of hot tea and fun songs?
Sierra Master Chorale members will sing while those in attendance are served a delicious three-course luncheon, with a different tea for each course. Each song by the SMC and featured soloists will have a reference to “tea” such as “Tea for Two,” “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” (“the way you sip your tea”) and “When I Take My Sugar to Tea.”
The luncheon will be served in “three movements” to keep with the musical theme of the afternoon, and include the expected scones and spreads, specialty tea sandwiches, and decadent desserts. As many have requested, the traditional lemon curd and clotted cream will be amongst the spreads served. Each movement will be entertaining and informative.
Attendees are requested to wear their prettiest or craziest hat for the “best hat” contest and vie for fabulous prize drawings. Everyone will take away valuable discount coupons from local merchant sponsors. It promises to be a memorable afternoon.
