Street of DreamsPlease join Nevada County Habitat for Humanity for a night of friendly bidding competition, great food, and lots of fun.  Chef Antonio Ayestaran will provide plentiful culinary delights while you enjoy an exciting silent and live auction featuring hundreds of great items.

Street of Dreams is an exciting and entertaining night with proceeds going directly to building affordable homes in our Heritage Oaks Neighborhood.  Tickets are $32 in advance (before September 21st), and $40 later.  For a limited time, tables of 8 can be purchased for $240 (before September 21st) or $300 later.  Tickets are available at the Habitat office, the Habitat Re-store, Harmony Books, Briar Patch Co-Op, and the Bookseller.  Please contact the Habitat office at (530) 274-1951 for more information.

2012Robert Burns1The Gold Country Celtic Society will host its 23rd annual Robert Burns Celebration:  Dinner and Ceilidh on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Miners Foundry.  An elegant dinner served by Chef Antonio Aayestran will feature a choice of beef, fish, or vegetarian entrees.  The Playing of the Pipes, Offerings of Haggis, and wee drams of Single-malt Scotch will accompany traditional toasts such as the Address to the Haggis, Toast to the Lassies and Lads, and the Immortal Memory Address to Burns.

 

2012Robert Burns11The Brigadoon Pub will offer single-malt Scotch, local wines, and other libations throughout the evening.  Following dinner, a traditional Scottish Ceilidh will feature the music of acclaimed Celtic trio Golden Bough.  Formal or semi-formal Scottish attire is appropriate.  Tickets are $55.00 for members and $60.00 for non members, and are available at the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce or by calling (530) 272-1316.

The Gold Country Celtic Society was organized to celebrate the culture of the Celtic people, many of whom (particularly the Cornish and Welsh) worked the hard rock mines of Nevada County.  The Society wishes to perpetuate Celtic traditions of music, dance, language, and costume.

The Mission of the Miners Foundry Cultural Center is to preserve, enhance and utilize the historic Miners Foundry for cultural, educational and social activities.   The Foundry is a non profit organization, pleased to support the Gold Country Celtic Society.

Celebrate Nevada County Habitat for Humanity at the 2013 Street of Dreams on Friday, October 11, 2013.  Enjoy an evening of food and socializing with a silent and live auction, beer, wine and more!  Chef Antonio Ayestaran will provide plentiful culinary delights while guests bid on a number of auction items to raise money for Nevada County Habitat for Humanity.  All funds raised will go directly towards building Home #8 of the Heritage Oaks neighborhood on Joyce Drive.  Early bird tickets are $30.00 and are available until September 27th.  After September 27 tickets will be $35.00.  Reserved tables of 8 are available for $300.00.  Tickets are available online or by calling the Habitat Office at (530) 274-1951.

Nevada County Habitat for Humanity was organized in 1995 by community, government, and church members to address the growing need for affordable housing in Nevada County.  The organization has grown from a handful of concerned citizens to include an active Board of Directors, Standing Committee Members, Committed Volunteers, and Donors who support the mission of providing simple, decent, and affordable home ownership for deserving local families.  To date, 24 homes have been completed in Nevada County.
