The band made their debut at Nevada City’s renowned Mad Dogs and Englishmen Pub on August 4, 1994.  Filled to capacity with crowds lining up outside, they knew they were on to something — a certain indefinable sound and feel that captures the essence of a Grateful Dead concert. A Night of Talking Heads with Mainstreet Collective

The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is pleased to present a Night of Talking Heads with the Mainstreet Collective on Saturday, January 27, 2024.  Bar opens at 7:00 p.m. and the Show begins at 8:00 p.m.

This will be a mind-blowing show! Punky anthems like “Psycho Killer,” “Life During Wartime,” and “Wild, Wild, Life” lead to dips in the “River” and “Stay Up Late.” But the sweet spot of this robust ensemble brings you “Remain in Light” and “Speaking in Tongues” cuts in all their frenetic pulsating drive and complexity.

The Mainstreet Collective was founded in 2021 as a continually expanding group of talented and passionate musicians around Placerville, CA who love to re-interpret classic music from the 20th and 21st centuries. The band creates standing-room only performances that blow the collective mind!

Get Tickets! | $10-$25

  • $20 in Advance | $25 at the Door | $10 Students (must show school ID at the door)
  • Standing / Dancing Show, Limited Seating Available

Mainstreet Collective

Mainstreet Collective (MSC) is an ever-expanding group of talented, passionate musicians in Placerville. MSC has been wowing audiences around the Sierra Foothills and beyond. The Talking Heads Tribute features talented instrumentalists like Charlie Baldwin on sax and Aron Faria on guitar. Vocals are gorgeously supplied by keyboardist Paul Godwin and femme fatales Haley Nicole Woodward and Mae Flores. Able, in the pocket rhythm section includes Brett Neumann on Bass,  Jerry Barton on drums plus Jason Bramlette on Vocals and percussion.

When MSC began their Talking Heads journey, they had no idea how a simple evening of Talking Heads music could explode a Goldrush town. Is it 80’s nostalgia? Zeitgeist for the Millenials? Why do old people and kids scramble and jump at this show? Come out and see for yourselves!
