Fall Youth Theatre Classes ~ September 10 through November 20, 2013

 

Miners Foundry Cultural Center and Dinah Smith will present Fall Youth Theatre classes for students ages 8-14.  Students will experience small classes and individual attention.  Classes will be offered on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons.  For more information and to register, please contact Dinah Smith at (858)  354-3241 or [email protected]  .

Students will:
~ Explore The Principles of Good Acting and Character Development
~ Experience Basic Character Dance Choreography in Musical Theatre
~ Learn Audition Tips and Techniques
~ Learn Songs and Choreography from Broadway Musicals and Movies
~ Perform in a Showcase on the last day of class (family and friends welcome!)

 

Dinah Smith

 

With a BA in Theatre and a Masters in Elementary Education, Dinah Smith has been involved in the Entertainment Industry and Theatre Arts Education since the early 1970’s as a teacher, director, choreographer, and performer.  Locally, she has choreographed for Sierra Stages, LeGacy, and Paul Emery; directed for Yuba River Charter School; performed with LeGacy, and recently had 10 different roles in the CATS production of Journey to the West.  Dinah is currently the choreographer for Lake Wildwood’s 70 girls 70 and is directing Sonja Weissman and The Miracle Play in December of 2013.
