Honeysweet is a Soul, R&B, Funk, Groove, and Jazz quintet that resides in Nevada City and Grass Valley, in the Sierra foothills of California. Upon their formation, they already had a large local following and they continue to collect dedicated fans while rocking parties and venues around Northern California.
The Whiskerman (Oakland) The youngest of three brothers and the son of two musicians, Graham Patzner didn’t have much choice. Starting on piano at age five and then moving on to violin, trumpet and guitar, the Whiskerman singer and front-man has cultivated a unique sound that is hard to pinpoint. His voice ranges from smoky to soaring, while his songs span a wide array of moods and genres, yet always remain soulful. Behind him is a tight band that includes brother Lewis Patzner (Judgement Day, Devotionals) on cello, Will Lawrence on bass, Nick Cobbett on drums, and Charles Lloyd (Cash Pony) on guitar and sitar. Collectively they form Whiskerman, and they are quickly becoming a force in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Lampshade Tango (Auburn): Andy Z and Cap’n Mike came from the frozen lakes and snow-covered roads of Michigan and settled in gold country to forge their prosperity. They joined forces with the Kitchen, a native to these hills, on a special Halloween night at an Argentinian Tango Ball. The rest is illustrious, speculative history.
There’s an entire world of music out there to love and explore. Each of us brings something a little different to the mix. We love playing in many different styles and enjoy meeting and sharing sounds and ideas with musicians and music lovers everywhere.
