Ord Days Letter Sized Poster-page-001Sierra Stages and Miners Foundry will present Ordinary Days on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.  Ordinary Days is the next installment of Theater By the Book, a series of informal play readings for the community.  With music and lyrics by Adam Gwon, the show is directed by Sandra Rockman, with Ken Getz as musical director and features Jay Barker, Nancy Haffey, Jonathan Hansard, and Kim Wellman.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are a $10 suggested donation, and are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, or at the door.

From one of musical theatre’s most excited new composers comes this refreshingly honest, funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps.  When Deb loses her most precious possession, the notes to her graduate thesis, she unwittingly starts a chain of events that turns the ordinary days of four New Yorkers into something extraordinary as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love, and cabs.

ABOUT

Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry present a “Theater by the Book” play reading of “THE CREDEAUX CANVAS” by Keith Bunin, directed by Jonathan Hansard on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30pm.

Jamie, Winston, and Amelia are three young struggling artists. In a scheming attempt to raise funds, Jamie convinces an art collector that he owns an original and extremely rare painting by a little-known French master Jean Paul Credeaux. As their plan unfolds, they create an imitation Credeaux and an entangled affair. “THE CREDEAUX CANVAS” is a complex love story, shining a sharp light on the things we give up in the fight for what we want.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

Now in its 8th Season, “Theater By the Book” is a series of informal play readings for the community co-presented by Sierra Stages and Miners Foundry. Readings occur throughout the year – visit www.sierrastages.org or www.minersfoundry.org for schedules and details.
