KVMR Presents

The Elders live in concert on Saturday, April 13, 2013!  The Elders are a six piece Irish American folk rock band that formed in Kansas City, Missouri.  They have toured extensively in the United States, Ireland, and Europe, drawing faithful crowds and earning new fans wherever they go.  A Limited Seating VIP reception and very special acoustic performance will begin at 7:00.  Doors open for the VIP reception at 6:30p.m.  Tickets for the VIP reception are $50.00 for KVMR Members and $55.00 for non-KVMR Members.  The dance party begins at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets for the dance party are $20.00 for KVMR Members and $25.00 for non-KVMR Members.  KVMR Lifetime Members are eligible for dance party only, and must make a reservation by January 31, 2013.

Since forming in 1998, The Elders have released five studios albums, two live albums, one compilation album, and a DVD.  The Elders are fronted by Ian Byrne, a native of Ireland’s County Wicklow.  The band also consists of guitarist Steve Phillips (formerly of The Rainmakers), bassist Norm Dahlor (formerly of Tommy Shaw Band), violinist Brent Hoad, drummer Tommy Sutherland, and keyboardist Joe Miquelon (formerly of Asleep at the Wheel).  All are veteran musicians who have planed in numerous recording and touring bands prior to forming The Elders.  The Elders’ songs have been played on more than 120 U.S. radio stations and have been featured live on WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour and more than 100 PBS stations.

The Elders concert is being presented by KVMR Radio, 89.5 and 105.1 FM, Music of the World, Voice of the Community, broadcasting from Nevada City, CA.  A vibrant community is well informed and involved, embraces diversity, respectfully shares opinions and fosters economic and social justice. KVMR builds community by bringing people together to celebrate the music of the world and give voice to the community.

The Mission of the Miners Foundry Cultural Center is to preserve, enhance and utilize the historic Miners Foundry for cultural, educational and social activities.   The Foundry is a non profit organization, proud to support other area non profits such as KVMR Radio.
