RESPOND

A new exhibit in the Osborn/Woods Gallery at the Miners Foundry will premiere on Thursday, January 12, 2017.  Seven artists will exhibit a series of new work from January 12 through January 22, 2017.  The artists are Juliette Morris Williams, Sheila Cameron, Duncan Linthicum, Jim Lee, Lisa Deniz, and Rebecca Harris Floeter.  This exhibit explores social, environmental, and cultural vocabulary in the hopes to incite the viewer to respond, react, and question their community environments.

There will be a reception with the artists on Friday, January 13 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Gallery.

The show will also be open Thursday, January 12 from 12:00-5:00pm, Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15 from 12:00-5:00pm, and January 21 and 22 from 12:00-5:00pm.

Following January 22, there will be a series of artist talks open to the public on a vareity of topics ranging from public art spaces to using art as a vocabulary.

Small Works

A new exhibit premieres Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Osborn/Woods Gallery at the Miners Foundry.  The show, entitled Small Works, features paintings, prints, greeting cards, art-to-wear clothing, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry pieces.  The exhibition will run from November 25 to December 28, 2016 at the Osborn/Woods Gallery, open every weekend from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Victorian Christmas Wednesdays from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.  The show features 13 artists, and is geared twoards smaller items for holiday shopping and gifts.

Juliette Morris Williams, Al Martinez, Celine Adrianna Negrete, Lisa Deniz, Erin Adamski, Kyle Kjoller, Ursula Xanthe Young, Rebecca Harris Floeter, Estella Straatsma, Doug Masury, Ivan Farmer, Jim Lee, and Duncan Linthicum.

Motion: An Exploration of Movement in Art

The Osborn/Woods Gallery will open on June 3, 2016 with a new show entitled ‘Motion:  An Exploration of Movement in Art’.  The opening reception is from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and coincides with Nevada City’s First Friday Artwalk.

The four artists in the June show are Juliette Morris Williams (artist-in-residence, curator for Osborn/Woods Gallery – jewelry and mixed media), Celine Adrianna Negrete (Photography), Lisa Deniz (Paintings), and Al Martinez (Metalwork).  The show will run through July 28.
