The mission of Petty Luv is simple – to honor Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers by spreading as much “Luv” and appreciation by recreating his music as close to the original sound as possible for as many people as possible….. hence the band name “Petty Luv”. It all began due to Tom Petty’s untimely death on October 2, 2017. The initial goal was to simply pay tribute and celebrate Tom Petty’s life, music, and great contribution to the human race by playing his music to the best of our ability.
Love Train is a 6-piece dance band that taps into the same gold vein of 60’s soul and R&B as the Blues Bros and the Commitments.
Belting out soul hits from Wilson Picket, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, the O’Jays, Sam and Dave, Stevie Wonder and many more, Love Train delivers a powerfully funky vintage soul groove that WILL get you dancing!
Guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Lyerly, and bassist/vocalist Karel Hendee form the core of the band.
They are joined by ace drummer Tim Bulkley, and backed by a stellar 3-piece horn section (Phil Kember, John DeBoer and Jerry Grant) that have played with such acts as the Temptations.

The Bands
Petty Luv – a Tribute to Tom Petty
It all began shortly after Tom Petty’s passing in early October, 2017.
The initial goal was to pay tribute to and celebrate Tom Petty’s life and music by pulling together local A-list musicians to play one gig to the best of our abilities, raise a pint and bid farewell with anyone who showed up.
The experience that cold January night was so amazing, the project had to continue and needed a name, one that shared our love and appreciation for Tom Petty. And so Petty Luv was born!
Kyle Ledson & Friends
Kyle Ledson grew up in the Grass Valley area playing mandolin and guitar, particularly Jamgrass and Psychedelic Folk.
His new album “Left It All Behind” features his original music along with members of Yonder Mountain String Band, ALO, and Hot Buttered Rum.
Kyle Ledson will be joined by his good friends D’jango Ruckrich and Mei Lin Heirendt.
Tim High & The Mighty
Made up of long time veterans of the local music scene, Tim High & The Mighty bring new life to good time rock ‘n roll.
Drawing from a diverse selection of tunes ranging from classics to deep tracks, you’ll hear everything from hard rock to jam, funk to reggae.
This unique combination of styles allows the band to create a synergy that will have your soul grooving and your dancing feet moving.
Patrick Donahoe
Sundog Review is the current conduit for the songs and creations of Patrick Donahoe.
His music is a sonic journey of minor key guitar work with throat singing tones deepening the ambiance, interwoven with lyrics of positive change.
Patrick also plays in a nonstandard frequency of 432hz, producing healing tones in tune with the natural world, including ourselves.
Gabriel Bingham
Born and raised in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Gabriel Bingham is combining Appalachian traditional music, bluegrass, and 90’s grunge.
His sound is rich with haunted vocal melodies, layering articulate instrumentation including guitar, clawhammer banjo, and mandolin.
You can catch him out in the wild with his current bluegrass band Caltucky.
