The Miners Foundry is pleased to present Collie Buddz with special guest The Expanders on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

Reggae artist Collie Buddz is momentous, gigantic, and booming featuring awe-struck songs complete with unforgettable sing-along hook, the kind of beats that pound in the chest and a vocal performance that’s as uncommon as it is infectious.

This is a dancing show. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.  Ages 16+.  No Ins and Outs allowed during the concert.

 Tickets are $25 in Advance and $30 at the Door.  Ticketing fees may apply.  Tickets are available online, by phone, or in person at the Miners Foundry, or in person at Briar Patch Co-Op.

Touring the world, Collie Buddz is constantly creating new music and experimenting with it in front of live audiences almost immediately. He has been featured on performances with Jody Highroller and Snoop Dogg, as well as Stick Figure.

The ExpandersThe Expanders are one of the hardest working reggae bands in Southern California.

Known for their vintage style of reggae played in the tradition of classic 1970’s Jamaican groups, their music is centered in three-part vocal harmonies and strong song writing, with lyrics that range from socially heavy to playful and upbeat.

This All Ages show also features Jah Mikey One, Venders and Irie Vibes, plus Sista Kat’s Kitchen serving Ital food and drink.

The Wailers PhotoInspired by Rastafari and their ambitions of reaching an international audience, the Wailers pioneered roots rock reggae, and signed to Island Records in 1971.   Under the direction of bassist Aston “Family Man” Barrett, the Wailers partnered with Bob Marley on the succession of hit singles and albums that made him a global icon and Jamaica’s best-loved musical superstar.  As the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition, the Wailers have completed innumerable tours, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe.

The Miners Foundry is proud to present Pato Banton on Thursday, June 26, 2014!  Positive Vibrations abound with a beat to keep you on your dancing feet, while Pato delivers a message that is food for the mind and soul. Many have considered his charismatic performance as live theatre where no show is alike and audience members become participants in the experienceDoors open at 8:00 p.m. and the music begins at 9:00 p.m., with KVMR’s Reggae DJ Redlocks opening.  Tickets are $20.00 in Advance and $24.00 at the Door, and are available online, by phone, or in person at the Miners Foundry, or in person at Briar Patch Co-Op.  A Pato Banton concert is an event not to be missed and an experience not to be forgotten!

Born in Birmingham, Banton first came to public attention in the early 1980s when he worked with The Beat. He recorded “Pato and Roger a Go Talk” with Ranking Roger, included on the 1982 album Special Beat Service.

Pato 2A period of deep reflection and meditation left Pato feeling guided to continue his musical journey. In early 2005 Spiritual Guide Yahe Boda invited Pato to do a short tour across America to “Gather the People in Praise.”  Pato’s most recent release is Destination Paradise (2008). He began 2009 with the formation of a new band, The Now Generation, who undertook a state wide tour of the United States, with a commitment to spreading the teachings of The Urantia Book. In the early 2010 Pato performed a special Ska-version show in Tijuana with The Ghostownians as backing-band. Throughout the performance he gave a peace message to the audience to counter the violence there at the time.

Don Carlos ~ “Harvest Time”

On Saturday, May 24, 2014, the Miners Foundry will be filled with the music of legendary reggae artist Don Carlos (with Dub Vision), and the Brazilian burst of creative soul and undeniable beats that is Boca do Rio.

 

Born and raised in the Jamaican district notoriously known as Waterhouse, Don Carlos started his singing career in 1973, as one of the original members of the roots vocal group Black Uhuru. Don played a prominent role in the recordings of the highly acclaimed Love Crisis for Prince Jammy in 1977.

 

 

 

Boco do Rio

The San Francisco band Boca do Rio takes its name from the Portuguese “mouth of the river”, the place where myriad streams and sources converge into one powerful, flowing, physical energy.  Kevin Welch has assembled a superb team of Brazilian and American musicians to give voice to his vibrant compositions.

Jah-Mikey---PERFECT---Flyer---8-5x11The Miners Foundry in association with JahMikey One and Git Split Records Presents Perfect Giddimani on Saturday, April 19, 2014.   Known as “the Musical Alchemist”, Perfect Giddimani is one of Reggae music’s most unusual, interesting, and abnormal artists and talents.   This All Ages show will also include Bobo David from Judgement Yard Jamaica with a live band featuring members of Ikronik, plus musical juggling from JahMikey One Sound.  Doors and Music are at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets are $20.00 in Advance and $25.00 at the Door and are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, and  in person at Briar Patch Co-Op.

Perfect Giddimani cut his first tune as Little Ninja before settling on his current stage name due to his perfectionism as a recording artist.  Perfect began deejaying in the sound system Trend Setter from Bamboo where he recorded his first dubplates.  The first song to break was “Lock Me Up” in 2004  but Perfect’s style was really revealed with “Handcart Bwoy” in 2005.   His first album, “Giddimani”, was released the following year and included many of his first singles.  Perfect’s second album “Born Dead With Life” was released in 2008.
