Becky’s New Car ~ Wednesday, October 22, 2014
The Miners Foundry and Sierra Stages will present an informal play reading of Becky’s New Car, written by Steven Dietz and directed by Ken Getz on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Miners Foundry.
Becky’s New Car is an installment of Theater By The Book, a series of informal play readings.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase along with a no host bar.
Tickets are a $10.00 suggested donation and are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, or in person at Briar Patch Co-Op.
Becky’s life isn’t exactly unhappy; it’s just stuck in neutral. When a wealthy widower offers Becky the chance at an exciting new life, things quickly accelerate out of her control. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the hilarity and U-turn plot twists as Becky leads us down the road less traveled. The key to Becky’s New Car is a remark made by her late friend Rita to the effect that when a woman “says she wants a new car, she wants a new life.”
Sierra Stages is a community theater enriching the cultural life of Nevada County by providing high quality, affordable and accessible performances for everyone.
