The Bands

Deadbeats

The Deadbeats get that music is best live.

The band made their debut at Nevada City’s renowned Mad Dogs and Englishmen Pub on August 4, 1994 and immediately knew they were on to something – a certain indefinable sound and feel that captures the essence of a Grateful Dead concert.

Over the years band members have rotated but the core group continues with great shows and big crowds. The current lineup includes Tom Menig, Gary Campus, Eric Menig, Rob Kopp, Glenn Tucker, Peter Wilson, and Jenn Knapp.

The Deadbeats play the Dead’s songbook with a balance of improvisation and honoring the song.

Wolf Jett

The Wolf Jett sound will make you dance, sing, and possibly even howl with roots that run deep into the soul and help you heal from the heaviness of life.

It’s a sound celebrating perserverance, infusing folk, blues, americana, and soul into what can only be described as “Cosmic Mountain Music”.

Frontman Chris Jones (Scary Little Friends) was born in the south and raised in California and his songs combine the best of both worlds to create a vibe that is fresh, but immediately familiar to a broad audience. He is joined by long-time musical collaborator Jon Payne on drums, Jeff Kissell on bass, and Will Fourt on dobro, guitar, and pedal steel.

Broken Compass Bluegrass Band

Emerging as a band in 2021, Broken Compass Bluegrass has already been recognized for their tight arrangements, tasteful playing, and distinguished songwriting.

The band performs a mix of jamgrass, bluegrass, country, and Grateful Dead material, among numerous originals.

Based in northern California, Broken Compass Bluegrass includes Kyle Ledson (20), Django Ruckrich (17), Mei Lin Heirendt (16), and Sam Jacobs (26).

Though still mostly teenagers, they are no strangers to the music industry.

All four are seasoned performers, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, and singers and have established themselves as some of California’s most prominent up-and-coming youth.

Now coming together as a band, they are a fresh force in the music scene today.

Sugar Mountain, the sweet and sultry Northern California duo consisting of beloved vocalists Karen Woerner & Cassidy Joy, brings you music from multiple decades and genres, all in beautiful harmony.

Karen & Cassidy have been playing together and individually for the better part of the last decade – most recently and notably being hand-picked to open for international guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel – and have an eclectic mix of Folk, Country, Rock, R&B, Pop and traditional songs, ranging from the 50’s to modern day, and even a few original tunes in the mix as well.

Old songs are arranged in an ethereal, poignant manner to make the tunes their own.

Their sound is sweet as candy,  soft but strong, powerful and seductive.

Listeners will be pleased to hear all their favourites, as well as brand new songs in the works.
