The Miners Foundry presents Reader’s Theatre on Sunday, July 12, 2015.  Readers Theatre is Story Time for Grown Ups, or Theatre of the Mind, and gained popularity during  World War II when large stage plays were too expensive to produce.  Using minimal props, the actor and your imagination illustrate the story.

This installment of Readers Theatre will feature stories by Susan Straight, Mona Simpson, Kevin Brockmeier, Emily Ishem Raboteau, and Tobias Wolff.  Local professionals generously volunteering their time for this production include Director Tim O’Connor, and Actors Renee Sprattling, Reinette Senum, David Iorns, Sharon Winegar, and Bruce Kelly.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the show begins at 4:00 p.m.  Tickets are $10.00 and are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, and in person at Briar Patch C0-Op.  Ticketing fees may apply.

The Miners Foundry will present Tim O’Connor’s Reader’s Theater on Sunday, March 31, 2019.  Reader’s Theater has been called Story Time for Grown Ups, or Theatre of the Mind, and gained popularity during World War II when large stage plays were too expensive to produce.  Using minimal props, the actor and your imagination illustrate the story.  Directed by Gaylie Bell-Stewart, the show will offer the best Amercian short stories from 1920-1929, featuring works by Ernest Hemingway, Dorothy Parker, Ring Lardner, and Sherwood Anderson.

The Miners Foundry will present Tim O’Connor’s Reader’s Theater on July 28, 2019.  Reader’s Theater has been called Story Time for Grown Ups, or Theatre of the Mind, and gained popularity during World War II when large stage plays were too expensive to produce.  Using minimal props, the actor and your imagination illustrate the story.  Directed by Gaylie Bell-Stewart, the show will offer the Best American Short Stories from the 1930s, featuring works by James Thurber, Leane Zugsmith, Joel Sayre, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, and James Reid Parker.
