Acting for Non Actors with Dinah Smith ~ January 9 – 30, 2013 ~ 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. ~ $80.00

Dinah Smith will present Acting for Non Actors, a series of four classes on January 9, 16, 23, & 30, 2013.  The classes will run Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  The cost is $80.00 for the session.  A second series will run in February.

Whether you are simply curious about acting, being on stage, or simply want more ease, confidence, and control in your life, come join Dinah for a fun and entertaining exploration of the skills and exercises that actors engage in every day to be in charge of their life on stage.  This class is geared for people who want to explore acting for fun, self discovery, and self confidence.  Learn techniques to help you overcome self-consciousness and stage fright.  Participate in theatre games that will loosen you up and hep you become more confident.  Begin connecting with people in an authentic and meaningful way.  Acting skills are people skills.  There will be a small amount of self selected memorization required.

“Instant Improv” (Just Add Actor) Workshop with Sandra Rockman ~ Saturday, November 10, 2012 ~ 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ~ $40.00

Improvisation is a wonderful tool that can be as useful for the classroom or the business meeting as it is for the stage. Come and experience the power of joy-in-the-moment. The exercises and games are great for all levels and ages.

Sandra Rockman has been involved with the local theater scene since 1978. She is an actress, playwright and has directed more than 25 productions, including last summer’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Class size will be limited.  Pre-registration is required.

~ Learn the Basics of Improvisation
~ Find & Refine the Perfect Audition Monologue
~ Become Skilled at Scene Work
~ Set Meaningful, Actable Objectives
~ Enhance Creative Spontaneity
