The Wailers ~ “Is This Love at Glastonbury 2014”
The Miners Foundry is pleased to present The Wailers in concert, Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Together with Bob Marley, the Wailers have sold over 250 million albums and have played to an estimated 24 million people across the globe. On the 30th anniversary of its release in 1984, The Wailers will be performing the iconic album Legend in it’s entirety. Named by Time Magazine as the “Best Album of the 20th Century” and #46 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Legend is also the best-selling reggae album of all-time, with over 30 million copies sold worldwide. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and the music starts at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 in Advance and $30.00 at the Door. Inspired by Rastafari and their ambitions of reaching an international audience, the Wailers pioneered roots rock reggae, and signed to Island Records in 1971. Under the direction of bassist Aston “Family Man” Barrett, the Wailers partnered with Bob Marley on the succession of hit singles and albums that made him a global icon and Jamaica’s best-loved musical superstar. As the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition, the Wailers have completed innumerable tours, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe.
