Youth Acting Classes with Dinah Smith ~ Wednesdays, February 6 – March 13, 2013 ~ 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. ~ $75.00

Dinah Smith will present Youth Acting Classes for students ages 9-13 on Wednesdays from 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. at the Miners Foundry.  The series of 6 classes will begin on February 6 and conclude on March 13, 2013.  The last class will include a fun and entertaining Showcase for family and friends.  Cost for the series is $75.00.  For more information and to register, please contact Dinah Smith at [email protected] or (858) 354-3241.

In class, students will:
~ Explore the Principles of Good Acting & Character Development
~ Create & Perform Improv Scenes from Fairytales, Cartoons, & Stories
~ Learn Audition Tips & Techniques
~ Play Theatre Games, work scenes & monologues

Dinah Smith

Dinah Smith (Teacher / Coach, Choreographer / Director, Actor)
With a BA in Theatre and a Masters in Elementary Education, Dinah has been involved in the entertainment industry since early 1970 as a teacher, director, choreographer, and performer.  Locally, she was choreographer and stage manager for the highly-acclaimed production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum in summer of 2011 and for Paul Emery’s production of Our Town in the fall of 2012.  She has appeared in Legacy’s productions of A Christmas Story as Miss Shields in 2011 and most recently as Miss Adams in Miracle on 34th Street.  She teachers at Center Stage Dance and directed Tom Sawyer and 12th Night at Yuba River Charter School.

The Mission of the Miners Foundry Cultural Center is to preserve, enhance and utilize the historic Miners Foundry for cultural, educational and social activities.   The Foundry is a non profit organization.
