Desert Daze Caravan Tour

March 1 @ 6:30 pm - 11:00 pm

- $20 - $25

(((folkYEAH))) Presents the Desert Daze Caravan Tour at the Miners Foundry on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, featuring JJUUJJUU, Froth, Deap Vally, Night Beats, and Temples.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $20-$25.  Ticketing fees may apply.  Tickets are available online, by phone or in person at the Miners Foundry Box Office, or in person at Briar Patch Co-Op.

It doesn’t take long with Temples’ second album, Volcano, to realize a noticeable evolution has taken place, whilst still keeping intact all the things loved about the band’s debut, Sun Structures. It’s there from the outset: the beefed-up beats of “Certainty” reveal an expanded sonic firmament, one in which bright synth hooks and insistent choruses circle around each other over chord sequences that strike just the right balance between nice and queasy.  Mystical language has been supplanted by something more direct. They’ve been broken down and blended together – fossilized into a single source of creative fuel. The result is a sound of a band squaring up to their potential, and a sound that is undoubtedly Temples.

Night Beats play pure psychedelic R&B music that spikes the punch and drowns your third eye in sonic waves of colour.

Deap Vally are an American rock duo, formed in Los Angeles, California in 2011. The group consists of Lindsey Troy (guitar, vocals) and Julie Edwards (drums and vocals). Edwards met Troy at a crochet class in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.

JJUUJJUU is an astral union, an arcane ritual, and above all, a conversation.  Harnessing an unspoken energy, the duo have exponentially blossomed from a sonic experiment to a forceful, telepathic dialogue of distinct-but-aligned vibrations. Releasing this dynamic on an expanding spiral of planned and impromptu live shows in the American southwest, the magnetism of the duo only continues to grow, along with its devoted, traveling coterie of entranced acolytes.
