The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is pleased to present our annual FREE Live Music Concert Series spotlighting the talent of our local artists on our patio. We’ll feature Beaucoup Chapeaux on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6:00 p.m.  – 9:00 p.m. Plus First Friday Artwalk!

Together for 15 years, with two albums and nearly 800 concerts to their credit, Beaucoup Chapeaux is Maggie McKaig on accordion and vocals; Luke Wilson on tenor guitar, plectrum banjo, vocals; Murray Campbell, violin, oboes, vocals; and Randy McKean, clarinets and vocals. 

Playing an eclectic melange of French chansons, Italian tarantellas, Balkan folk tunes, Hot Club jazz, originals, and more, Beaucoup Chapeaux enchants audiences wherever they play. 

As to their name, Beaucoup Chapeaux (bad French for “many hats”), it refers not to hats at all, but to their wide-ranging music and musical backgrounds.  But at its simplest, the very roots of Beaucoup Chapeaux are about creating joy, or as the French say, the joie de vivre—the joy of life, that which makes life worth living, that gives one a reason to keep going.  That’s what the band feels their audiences and the world needs, so that’s what they do.

First Friday Artwalk!

Nevada City’s thriving arts community comes alive during First Friday Artwalk.

Local artisan boutiques, shops, wine tasting rooms and eateries feature local artists at live events throughout the evening.

The event showcases both established and emerging artists, creating space for engagement between artist and art lover.
