Miners Foundry and Holt Ballet Conservatory (HBC) will present “Clara and The Nutcracker” on December 12 and 13 at 7:00pm and a 1:00pm matinee on December 14.

Enjoy a delightful performance of holiday cheer and tradition in historical Nevada City with a beautiful cast of dancers, colorful costumes, magical sets, and the wonderful music of the holidays.  The Miners Foundry offers time-honored hospitality and HBC dancers bring vibrant energy and faithful dedication to the art of ballet and this classical favorite.

About

“Clara and The Nutcracker” is a delightful version of the classic holiday tale “The Nutcracker Suite” by E.T.A. Hoffmann.  The cast runs the gamut, from youngsters making their stage debut to advanced accomplished dancers performing en pointe, and all levels in between.  Holt Ballet Conservatory’s production tells the tale of Clara, whose Christmas present of a toy nutcracker solider inspires a magical dream filled with battling mice, dancing sugar canes, and visits from ambassadors from afar. These variations provide an opportunity for classically trained ballet dancers to showcase and share their carefully crafted talent.  Children will be enchanted and adults will be inspired by this performance to remember!

Holt Ballet Conservatory opened in 2011 and specializes in traditional classical ballet training for students aged 3 and up.

FAQs

What if someone in my group requires ADA Accessibility?

All Floor Sections are Accessible. If Floor seating is sold out, ADA patrons may purchase a seat in the Riser sections, and we will do our best to accommodate. We strive to be in compliance with Federal and Local ADA Requirements, however we cannot guarantee that a Floor Seat will be made available to those with Riser Tickets if all Accessible seating is in use by ADA patrons.

Rows AA through DD are Reserved for those in need of Accessible seating, and their companions. If these seats are purchased by non-ADA patrons, they may be asked to relocate.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This is an All Ages event with many families attending. If you have purchased a “Student” ticket, you may be asked for proof of eligibility.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is not required that you print your ticket. However, each ticket has an assigned seat number, so you will be more prepared if you have it out either on your mobile phone, or in hand, upon arrival.

Reserved seating tickets are $22.00 for Adults and $16.00 for Youth 18 and Under (Use Access Code “Under18” – Youth status will be verified upon entry.)

Tickets are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry (530) 265-5040.  Ticketing fees are waived for purchases made by phone or in person at the Miners Foundry Box Office, located at 325 Spring St Nevada City, in the business office.

The Box Office opens one hour before the performance, and doors to the theatre open 30 minutes before the performance.  The evening performances (December 12-13) begin at 7:00 p.m.  The matinee (December 14) begins at 1:00 p.m.
