Poranguí in Concert: Album Release Celebration!
With Special Guests Ryan Herr and Shamans Dream
Join us for this special journey of ancestral rhythm, dance, sound healing, and musical activation!
We are excited to be celebrating the official release of Poranguí’s self-titled live album on March 1. When we thought about where we would love to be for the official launch, we knew we had to come get down with the Nevada City tribe!
This live solo album is a sonic prayer carefully woven together from Poranguí’s improvised performances at Lightning in a Bottle Festival and Unify Festival. These songs are infused with the energy of a living and breathing dance floor that along with Spirit helped him to channel this humble offering into being.
We will open the evening with a mini Dance.Sing.Play “playshop” with Poranguí to explore our bodies as rhythmic instruments and activate our voices.
Ryan Herr will open the roads musically and drop us all into our embodied journey for the evening.
Then we’ll drop in to deep earthy grooves as Poranguí sonically guides us through waves of ecstatic movement and blissful stillness, ending in a meditative sound soak. His partner, Ashley Klein, will sprinkle the musical set with some vocal guidance, visualizations, and meditations inviting our prayers and intentions into our dance.

Poranguí:
Reared among the three cultures of Brazil, Mexico and the U.S., Poranguí was steeped in various traditional forms of music, healing and ceremony since birth. Drawing from his cross-cultural background and ethnomusicology training at Duke University, Poranguí has over twenty years of international work experience as an artist, musician, educator, filmmaker, consultant and therapist, utilizing the healing properties of sound and movement to foster our individual and collective well being.
As a live looping artist and one-man orchestra Poranguí weaves ancestral songs and indigenous rhythms from around the globe. Creating his performances from scratch using looping technology, Poranguí’s live grooves range from meditative to dance party, moving the body, lifting the spirit, and transcending the divide between performer and audience.
Shamans Dream:
Shamans Dream is Sahuna Love’s musical prayer for healing, transformation, love, and happiness for all beings. Sahuna is inspired by the spiritual musical lineages from around the globe and the healing power of the drum. Every Shamans Dream offering is a ceremony and opportunity for all who receive the music to make an intension & prayer for their own lives and use the music as medicine. This healing music is offered as a prayerformance or an ecstatic dance journey and in conjunction with Sahuna’s services as a medicine ceremony facilitator, music producer, festival and retreat producer and healing arts practitioner.
