Sonja Weissman and the Atomic Secrets

Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry will present Sonja Weissman and the Atomic Secrets on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.  Sonja Weissman and the Atomic Secrets,  written by Robin Wallace and directed by Dinah Smith, is the next installment of Theater By the Book, a series of informal play readings for the community.

This new play-in-development, a sequel to Sonja Weissman and the Miracle Play takes place in both the past and the present during two New Year’s Eve celebrations in Ottawa, Canada.  At the beginning of the Cold War, Sonja and her friends become aware of a rapidly changing world, personally and politically, in ways that will impact the women they become.  Their reunion 70 years later brings startling new insights about what has happened in the intervening years.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.  Admission is free with a $10 suggested donation.  Advance tickets are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, or at the door.

Sierra Stages is a community theater which enriches the cultural life of Nevada County by providing high quality, affordable and accessible performances for everyone. Among our goals is to create an ongoing and viable community theater in the Grass Valley and Nevada City area.
