Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry will present The Language Archive on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. The Language Archive, written by Julia Cho and directed by Leslie Ann Rivers, is the next installment of Theater By the Book, a series of informal play readings for the community.
Will a man who speaks nine languages ever learn to communicate with his wife? Will the last two speakers of a soon-to-be dead language break their vow of silence? In The Language Archive, the lives of five people are imaginatively woven together as they discover that no matter how many words they can speak, it’s the heart’s language that matters most.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free with a $10 suggested donation. Advance tickets are available online, in person or by phone at the Miners Foundry, or at the door.
