The Heifer Belles with Juliet Gobert
The Heifer Belles began as friends getting together for some casual picking and singing. The result, a blend of back porch Americana, took them out of the living room and into the world to perform their music.
The groups songs range from tongue-in-cheek to heartfelt to socially insightful, a gamut of the human experience in today’s world.
The band, Juliet Gobert, song writer and lead singer plays rhythm guitar alongside Toni Valenta, of the SoCal band Belly Love, who brings her impressive bass and guitar skills in addition to beautiful harmony vocals and, Nici Van Kreidt, on violin, classically trained from the age of 7 yrs, currently a highly sought after violin teacher, whose influences range from classical to Grateful dead to Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz, rounds out the ensemble with her impeccable style.
The Heifer Belles have played some of California’s premier music festivals; Kate Wolf, Strawberry, World Fest, American River, and have played several Cowboy Poetry festivals as well, Heber Valley Utah, Santa Clarita Ca, Elko Nevada and many more.
The Western Swing Trio with Bob Woods
The Western Swing Trio includes two current members and one future member of the Sacramento Western Swing Hall Of Fame. They play both Western Swing classics and originals featuring the “twin guitar” sound. Brett Cole grew up on a Christmas Tree farm in Newcastle, California, but decided to leave that glamorous life behind to see the world while playing bass with The Pyronauts, the Bob Woods Trio, and too many bands to name. His folk EPs (A Place for My Heart,” “Dead Things Extra Teeth,” and “Keep Warm”) are now streaming. Olen Dillingham has played fiddle and electric mandolin with Western Swing luminaries Carolyn Martin, Igor Glenn, Dave Stuckey, Jimmy Rivers, and former Texas Playboys including Tiny Moore and Vance Terry.
He has been a part of hometown favorites Cousin Cricket and the Stardust Cowboys. Bob Woods plays guitar, steel guitar, and saxophone and has been playing professionally since 1971.
Bob and has played with his heroes including Albert Lee, Bill Kirchen, Tiny Moore, Ramblin Jack Elliot, and the Surfaris. Bob is a member of the Earles of Newtown and Grease, Grit, and Grime. Bob has also been running trains for thirty years.
