Mount Whateverest

The Miners Foundry is pleased to present Mount Whateverest and My Dallas Teens in the Osborn/Woods Hall on Saturday, June 12, 2021.  The show begins at 7:00pm and patrons will be seated at 6:30pm.

Nevada City’s own Mount Whateverest could qualify as a cultural institution.  The group originally formed in 2010, with mutations and changes along the way as local bands do before formalizing the line up in 2019.  As the world returns to normal, Mount Whateverest are poised to return to abnormal.  New songs showcase the band’s growing interest in EDM, house music, and hip hop.  Whether they’re playing reggae, space rock, glam, or electronica, Mount Whateverest are and continue to be The Highest Band on Earth.

From the beautiful mountains to the vast deserts, My Dallas Teens are holding fondly to a musical structure of times past and harmonies of the future.

SONY DSCMumbo Gumbo blends many genres from rock to soul, afropop to lush balladry, zydeco to country, into a celebratory, danceable noise, creating something less a specific style than a particular feeling:  The Sound of Sheer Joy.

Moving back and forth between sly, sometimes melancholy explorations of romance and individuality, and ebullient, unabashed celebrations of family and commitment, Mumbo Gumbo weaves a rich tapestry of sound and sensibility that transcends genre.  The result can be positively relentless, as the band’s extended jams drive dancers wild while giving non-dancers plenty to enjoy.

Mumbo Gumbo is both an institution on the NorCal concert scene and an ever-evolving collective that fills listeners with joy and longing, and always has audiences dancing their hearts out.

Mount Whateverest ~ “Flaming Eye”

Mount WhateverstThe musicians who comprise Nevada City rock band Mount Whateverest form a musical unit capable of reaching staggering  heights.  Their music is a noisy collision of sugar-coated pop, space-jazz interludes and giant, classic rock riffs.

Changed school yard choruses combine with thumping glam rhythms to create the kind of day glow rock and roll not heard since T. Rex roamed the Earth.

Armed with distortion boxes, lasers, and lots of extra oxygen, Mount Whateverest are so high, they’re breaking through into the bottom of something else entirely.

Scary Little Friends ~ “A City At Night”

Scary Little FriendsSanta Cruz / San Francisco based Scary Little Friends feature lilting vocals and surfs-up psychedelic guitar with underlying southern soul roots and strong songwriting.

Their live shows combine an understated professionalism with raw talent by offering authentic heartfelt performances that connect with their audience the old fashion way.

With a peak at 29,000 feet above sea level, Mount Everest in Nepal is one of the world’s tallest mountains.  The musicians who comprise the Nevada City rock band Mount Whateverest have been to similar heights.  Their music is a noisy collision of sugar-coated pop, space-jazz interludes and giant, classic rock riffs.  Chanted school yard choruses combine with thumping glam rhythms to create the kind of day-glow rock and roll not heard since T. Rex roamed the Earth.  Armed with distortion boxes, lasers and lots of extra oxygen, Mount Whateverest are so high, they’re breaking through into the bottom of something else entirely.

Mount Whateverest

Gwendolyn and Lucy Giles  of Dog Party have been making music around Northern California for a couple of years.  When they’re not juggling school, sports, pets, life, or tearing up the hill at Squaw Valley USA, they are busy writing, recording, and playing some of the freshest, most exciting fun rock n roll around!  Every minute is a party when P.A.R.T.Y.!!! is playing…we dare you not to tap your feet, challenge you not to sing along on the second listen, and will be in awe if you are NOT in the mood to P.A.R.T.Y. along with Dog Party and their amazing, positive brand of rock!

Persist to Rise

One of the most exciting new bands to emerge from the vibrant Nevada County music scene is the noise-rock power trio, TV Stones. While still a relatively young band, they’ve already garnered a reputation as a live band that’s not to be missed.
